  2. PSO Analysis on Equity and Social Determinants of Health | Safe Table

    This presentation will discuss how PSOs can drive equitable changes, and ways the Cleveland Clinic is trying to lead that effort.

Throughout this hour, participants will learn about central holdings in certain cases, the effect of the holding on the PSQIA privilege, and the meaning of the case as it pertains to conducting patient safety activities.

She promotes the pharmacist’s role as a health care provider while protecting the well-being of pharmacists and pharmacy personnel in the workplace.

Beth Anne Jackson is a Principal in the firm’s Health Care Practice Group and has focused her career on advising providers on the transactional, compliance, and operational aspects of health care law. She counsels health care providers on the development and implementation of contracts, transactions, policies, and procedures to comply with and preserve available privilege protections under federal and state health care regulations. This encompasses the PSQIA, peer review/HCQIA, HIPAA, the Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, EMTALA, and the corporate practice of medicine. Her clients include hospitals and their medical staffs, ambulatory surgery centers, physician groups, other outpatient providers, and patient safety organizations.

Tara Modisett serves as the Executive Director of the Alliance for Patient Medication Safety PSO. She has worked with patient safety and training pharmacy staff in medication safety for over 15 years and has presented many times on the topic at state and regional pharmacy conventions. Prior positions include Vice President for Quality Initiatives with APMS, and Director of Special Projects for the Virginia Pharmacists Association.

Christine Pokryfky, RN, BSN, JD is a diverse leader with more than 13 years of experience in a wide array of healthcare settings. Upon graduating from Johns Hopkins University, she began her career as an active-duty Officer in the Army Nurse Corps. After leaving the military she worked as a RN Case Manager at the Cleveland Clinic for several years before attending law school at Case Western Reserve University. Christine is now the PSO Program Manager for the Cleveland Clinic Enterprise.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made in writing seven or more days prior to the scheduled event and emailed to education@calhospital.org.
Substitutions are encouraged. Cancellation and substitution notification may be emailed to education@calhospital.org. In the unlikely event that the program is cancelled, refunds will be issued to paid registrants within 30 days.
