- Oversees and coordinates all SFHN efforts to monitor and maintain compliance with all regulatory, state, federal, and Joint Commission requirements.
- Provides the necessary vision, political acumen, and leadership fortitude to effectively motivate and direct the SFHN Quality Management Team, clinical and non-clinical services, and staff in developing and achieving quality goals/objectives and promote alignment and standardization (where applicable) throughout the SFHN in alignment with the values, vision and mission of the SFHN.
- Creates an environment that fosters innovation and performance, supporting the implementation of programs that continuously advance clinical outcomes and patient experience. Actively implement innovative ideas to redefine, measure and improve quality.
- Responsible for maintaining the SFHNs system-wide Quality program; to include data collection, aggregating and analyzing data, maintaining policies and procedures, and reporting to administrators, Medical Staff, and the Governing Body.
- Coordinates performance improvement efforts, risk management, patient safety, regulatory compliance and infection prevention and control programs and activities within the SFHN so that teams work effectively to meet organizational and strategic priorities.
- Works closely with clinical and non-clinical teams for improvement on key performance indicators, designs processes for new initiatives, services and other targets identified by SFHN and DPH leadership.
- Serves as an internal consultant to SFHN and DPH leadership, clinical and non-clinical staff in the areas of regulatory, process improvement, performance monitoring, and statistical analysis.
- Assists in the establishment of operational performance measurements and the monitoring of trends in key performance indicators to evaluate effectiveness, reliability, efficiency, etc. using available information systems data. Where other data is necessary but not readily available, designs and implements appropriate data collection processes.
- Responsible for the coordination, development and implementation of administrative policies and procedures and reviews existing policies and procedures for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Lean leader and role models the use of proven performance improvement and quality tools (A3 thinking, PDSA) as a means to solve quality-related challenges and uses data to drive improvement;
- Ensures Quality Program alignment with the mission, vision and strategic goals of the San Francisco Health Network and the Department of Public Health.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; AND
- Six (6) years of managerial experience in healthcare quality improvement, all of which must include supervising healthcare professionals.
- Possession of a Master’s degree from an accredited university or college in Public Health, Business Administration or a closely related field may substitute for up to one (1) year of the required experience.
- One-year full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week).
