Helping Hospitals Address Implicit Bias in Maternity Care
While California hospitals have made strides in improving overall maternity care, we continue to witness strong racial disparities in maternal mortality and morbidity in our state — as in the rest of the nation. Disparities persist even after accounting for age, income, education, health insurance status, and other socio-economic attributes, and evidence points to implicit bias and racism as major factors in these inequities.
Early Enrollment Ramping Up for New HQI Data Analytics Platform
Early adoption has surged for HQI’s new Hospital Quality Improvement Platform — a quality analytics system that consolidates disparate data sources into a single, statewide platform. The platform is available free of charge to all California Hospital Association members.
Since launching in October 2019, 33 hospitals have already completed the participation process and 128 have participation agreements under review to join them.
