HQI has established a vanguard new partnership with Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) to advance patient safety and caring for caregivers in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
HQI Cares: Implementing BETA HEART® has been integrated into IEHP’s Hospital Pay-for-Performance Program for the health plan’s Medi-Cal contracted hospitals, which allows hospitals to receive financial rewards for program-related targets.
Comprised of five closely integrated domains, HQI Cares is a comprehensive, principled and systematic approach to responding to and reducing harm. To date, 24 IEHP hospitals have enrolled in the HQI Cares journey and are currently conducting gap analyses. A successful in-person Workshop One was held Feb. 24-25 in Los Angeles and covered the domains of Culture of Safety and Care for the Caregiver. More than 100 hospital leaders were in attendance. Workshop Two is planned for April 19-20 and will cover the domains of Rapid Event Response & Analysis and Communication & Transparency.
