You’ll gain practical strategies for initiating supportive conversations with those who may be struggling, as well as learn about the vital resources available to help.

Presentation topics include:

  • Explain the Importance of Suicide Prevention: Understand why addressing suicide risk is critical for individual well-being and team dynamics.
  • Analyze Risk Factors of Suicide: Recognize key risk factors that may contribute to suicidal ideation or behavior.
  • Identify Behaviors Suggesting Suicide Risk: Detect warning signs and behaviors that indicate someone may be at risk of suicide.
  • Develop Communication Strategies for At-Risk Team Members: Practice effective approaches for initiating conversations with team members who may be at risk.
  • Learn Support Resources: Identify available resources to support at-risk individuals and promote mental health.

Kristina is an assistant nurse manager for an adult progressive care unit at UC San Diego Health. She is an advocate for healthcare worker wellbeing and suicide prevention. Her passion for research and evidence-based practice evolved from her desire to find ways to better support her colleagues. In her free time, Kristina likes to trail run, read, and check out the local food scene.
