As collaborative partners, CHPSO and the Patient Safety Authority (PSA) share resources and tools to help our members improve quality and advance their patient safety efforts. As part of these collaborative efforts, CHPSO is pleased to announce that the PSA has launched a new publication, Patient Safety, a journal unlike any other you’ve seen.
Patient Safety intersects original research, trending areas of focus, and firsthand patient perspectives, featuring analyses from the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Reporting Database (PA-PSRS)—one of the largest databases of its kind in the world, featuring expert interviews and patient commentaries.
Highlights from the first issue include: an interview with Pennsylvania secretary of health, Dr. Rachel Levine discussing the opioid crisis; best practice implementation—see how you compare; and a breakdown of peripheral versus central lines. Patient Safety has no subscription fees or author fees: It’s available now to read online, as well as free to publish in.
Once you have had the opportunity to review the current issue, PSA would like to encourage you to submit your own research articles, essays, studies, and other submissions. If your manuscript will help advance patient safety, the PSA wants to see it!
