The Summit, held in collaboration with the HQI Annual Conference, represents a gathering of the minds best positioned to make real, measurable improvements in patient safety. Faculty

Dr. Joseph Betancourt, MD, MPH
Dr. Joseph Betancourt is the Senior Vice President, Equity and Community Health at Massachusetts General Hospital, and founder, senior advisor and faculty of the Disparities Solutions Center (DSC) at Mass General as well as a practicing Internal Medicine physician. He is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in health policy, health care disparities, diversity, and cross-cultural medicine.

Dr. Heather Farley, MD, MHCDS, FACEP
Dr. Heather Farley, an emergency physician by training, is one of the nation’s foremost experts on health care worker wellbeing. Dr. Farley is passionate about advancing the professional fulfillment and wellbeing of health care providers – studies show that investing in employee wellbeing is a wise choice for health systems for a multitude of moral, ethical, and financial reasons.

Dr. Marty Makary, MD, MPH
Dr. Makary is a health care futurist, Johns Hopkins surgeon, and Professor of Public Health. Makary is a frequent medical commentator on NBC and FOX News and a leading voice for physicians, writing for the Wall Street Journal and USA Today. He advises policy leaders at the highest levels of government on health care and leads an advocacy effort to re-build the public trust in American hospitals.
