HQI is dedicated to advancing quality, safety, and reliability in health care, ensuring that hospitals can deliver the highest standard of care to every patient. Through our innovative programs and evidence-based strategies, HQI helps hospitals reduce harm, improve patient outcomes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
One of our most significant initiatives is the Hospital Quality Improvement Platform (HQIP), a comprehensive tool designed to help hospitals monitor, analyze, and improve patient safety and quality outcomes. By providing best practices, performance benchmarking capabilities, and insights from real-time data, HQIP empowers health care organizations to drive improvement and enhance delivery of care.
The number of California hospitals using the HQIP platform is growing, with more than 240 currently enrolled. That’s an increase of nearly 60 hospitals in the last quarter. If your hospital isn’t utilizing HQIP, I encourage you to explore its benefits and new features. You can read more about HQIP in this edition of Quality Quarterly.
Also in this edition, we look at the frequency of menopause-related misdiagnoses in hospitals, with recommendations for a patient-centered approach to harm prevention; we explore the prevalence of behavioral health conditions among emergency department and inpatient hospital admissions; and we present the case for why hospitals must strive to increase reporting when staff members experience incidents of patient harm and workplace violence.
I hope you find the information in this edition of Quality Quarterly valuable. HQI is here to support you in your work. We’re proud to be partners in building a health care system that prioritizes safety, transparency, and accountability.
