HQI Cares: Implementing BETA HEART, HQI’s program to help hospitals develop reliable, sustainable cultures of patient safety and systems of care for the caregivers, is progressing well in the inaugural cohort of 24 hospitals.
Hospital enrollment is now open for 2023. If you’d like to discuss the program’s benefits and the potential enrollment of your hospital in the new 2023 cohort, contact Boris Kalanj, HQI’s director of programs, at bkalanj@hqinstitute.org.
Executives can learn more about this program during a complimentary leadership retreat on Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes. This is a unique opportunity to hear from BETA’s renowned faculty about the methods used in engaging hospitals and hospital teams to advance the organizational culture of safety, rapid event response, communication and transparency, caring for the caregiver, and early resolution.
Speakers include Tim McDonald, MD, JD, a lead architect of the CANDOR toolkit, and Allan Frankel, MD, a foremost national expert on hospital high reliability, leadership, and culture change. The retreat will also feature a panel of hospital executive leaders already participating in the program, who will provide personal insight into its meaning and value.
The retreat is part of BETA’s 2022 Annual Symposium (Oct. 20-21), which will offer further extensive learning about patient and employee safety and related issues. Retreat participants are welcome to attend the retreat and all symposium sessions free of charge.
Executive leaders interested in attending should contact Boris Kalanj, HQI’s director of programs at bkalanj@hqinstitute.org.
