December 4, 2024 | 11:00AM - 12:00PM PT

To Err is Human: The Anatomy of a Wrong-Sided Block is a deeply humanistic narrative and personal reflection on a medical error that occurred early in my professional journey. This discussion delves into the occurrence of sentinel events, the contributing factors behind the error, the immediate reactions, the process of disclosure, and the eventual resolution. Through this exploration, the primary goal is to provide valuable insights for my fellow healthcare professionals, encouraging them to learn from my experience, implement proactive measures to prevent medical errors, and embrace leadership roles in safeguarding the well-being of the patients we are entrusted to care for.

Presentation topics include:

  • Understand the Anatomy of Medical Errors
  • Identify Contributing Factors to Sentinel Events
