We are thrilled to announce the return of Carlix Lung to HQI, this time as a full-time member of our dynamic team. Carlix, who previously interned with us as a student data assistant, has come back to contribute his expertise and passion for problem-solving in a full-time role of programmer analyst.
Carlix Lung’s journey is a testament to his dedication and diverse skill set. Originally from Hong Kong, Carlix’s background as an international student adds a rich layer of diversity to our team at HQI. Holding a B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in Psychology from Jessup University, Carlix graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2024. His academic background is a blend of technical prowess and an understanding of human behavior, making him uniquely suited to tackling the complexities of data analytics and quality improvement in health care.
Carlix’s professional journey is distinguished by numerous significant experiences. At Jessup University, he supervised an ethnically diverse team as an international student service assistant, coordinating cultural events for over 500 guests and fostering a welcoming environment for global students. His role as a teacher assistant in research statistics and methods for social science further honed his analytical and teaching skills, working alongside professional epidemiologists and mastering inferential statistics and research methodologies.
Moreover, Carlix’s versatility extends beyond academia and internships. As a library student assistant, he guided peers in academic research and managed social media content to enhance the library’s presence. His international experience includes designing coding curricula for Smart Kiddo International in Hong Kong, where he developed educational material on robotics, algorithm development, and machine learning for teenagers.
Carlix’s achievements are numerous. Notably, he developed an award-winning app called Cookmate, which utilized machine learning to create meal plans based on refrigerator contents. This innovative project earned him a full scholarship and first place in a STEM competition, highlighting his ability to merge technology with practical applications.
Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, Carlix brings a global perspective to our team. His technical skills span Python, Java, HTML, SQL, and SPSS, while his professional competencies include leadership, team management, event planning, and a strong commitment to inclusion and personal growth.
