Paul LeSage has over 36 years of experience in emergency services, including 29 years as a Firefighter/Paramedic in Portland, Oregon. He served on the Technical Rescue and Dive Team, as a Helicopter Flight Paramedic, and retired as the Assistant Chief of Operations in 2010. Paul has received numerous awards, including the State of Oregon EMS Impact Award and the OFCA’s Golden Trumpet Award. He also served as the Interim Director of Oregon’s second-largest 911 Center.
Currently, Paul is a Founding Partner and Senior Analyst at SG-Collaborative Solutions, focusing on creating reliable and resilient systems in commercial aviation, healthcare, and EMS. His work includes deconstructing and analyzing incidents, and conducting risk analyses to improve performance and manage risk. Paul and his teams work across the U.S., Canada, Central America, and Australia.
He holds degrees in Organizational Communications, Human Factors Analysis, EMS, and Fire Science, and teaches at the Oregon Health Sciences/OIT School of Medicine. Paul has authored a book on Crew Resource Management in Emergency Services and founded Informed Publishing, which developed mobile apps for frontline care providers.
